2008 International Cement Summit which is the largest and the most influential international exhibition of cement technology and equipment in the world was held ceremoniously in Shanghai on April 2. The summit sponsored by China Cement Association and the Branch Building Material Industry Council of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, attracts over 600 people including enterprise representatives from home and abroad, experts, scholars and trade medias. Lin Yulong— the Deputy chief of the Economical Operation Bureau of National Development and Reform Commission, Zhang Renwei—the president of the China Building Material League, Qiao Longde—the president of State Assets Large Enterprise Supervisors Board of State Council, Tom Clough from the Holcim world executive, and Lei Qianzhi — the president of China Cement Association came to express the salutatory.                                      

The theme of summit is: reform and union to promote the development of enterprises.
